The subject is serious but the training is fun – many divers tell us the PADI Rescue Diver course was their favorite!
The PADI Rescue Diver course teaches you techniques to avoid and manage problems and improve your confidence as a diver. During the course you’ll become a better buddy by enhancing your ability to identify potential problems and by practicing dive emergency protocol. *This course fee only covers your online training, assessments and certification card. Practical training fees, dives, dive equipment, student slate and logbook are available at additional fees at Ocean Quest Adventures.
Age Requirement: 12 years or older
Time Commitment: Approximately 10-12 hours
Course Prerequisites: Adventure Diver/Junior Adventure Diver (or qualifying certification) with completed Underwater Navigation Dive; EFR Primary and Secondary Care training (or qualifying training) within 24 months
How does it work?
After enrolling, you’ll learn essential safety and problem solving concepts through videos, audio, graphics and reading. Progress through the material at your own pace using a desktop, laptop or mobile device. Quizzes help you evaluate your progress and identify sections you may need to review. As part of the enrollment process you can message Ocean Quest Adventure with questions and to schedule your practical, inwater training(Addtional fees apply).
What does it cover?
The PADI Rescue Diver course covers minor dive problems and major dive emergencies and a variety of techniques to deal with and avoid each. Topics include: The Psychology of Rescue, Recognizing Diver Stress, Accident Management, and Responding to Diver emergencies, Equipment Problems, and more.
What else is required to complete the course?
You’ll practice your knowledge and skills during inwater rescue scenarios in confined water and open water. Exercises include: self-rescue; panicked diver; response from shore, boat or dock; distressed diver; first aid and oxygen administration; and more.

- Any PADI E-Learning code that is redeemed with PADI is NON-REFUNDABLE.
- Once you redeem your code with PADI you have 12 months to complete the online portion. If you do not complete in 12 months you will be required to pusrchase a new code to continue.
