First off, we would prefer to have you out for our three hour ocean safari... However, if you only have a short window and want to see the sights than this is the trip for you. Zip along the majestic coast of Newfoundland with us on a 90 minute Ocean Safari.
Imagine exploring an ancient "Jurassic Park" coastline, riddled with sea caves and cascading waterfalls. Your chance to experience whales circling below, maybe a family of Orcas, and eagles patrolling overhead, you will adventure in the most pristine conditions the Atlantic Ocean has to offer.
You will see it all on this tour. The sheer cliffs, exotic vegetation, and if you're lucky, a sunfish, jumping tuna, or even frolicking dolphins, and did we mention, even the occasional leatherback sea turtle?!?!
All this and wide open seas leave the city feeling miles away.
Runs: May 1st - September 2nd Location: Petty Harbour Duration: 1.5 hours Time: 1pm to 230pm daily Fee: $86.96 + Tax = $100.00 CAD
Frequently Asked Questions:
1 - What should I bring? At Ocean Quest we like to make it as easy for you as possible so we have covered just about everything. The only thing you will want to make sure you have is clothing appropriate for the day; please ensure you have options for additional layers and raingear as well as a warm hat and gloves. We request that all other items be left in your vehicle or locked in our office. One steadfast rule on our RHIB's is that you must assume anything you bring along will get wet!
2 - Should I bring my camera? Cameras are encouraged! However, please make sure it is waterproof. Also make sure you have a way to secure it to your person. Last year alone we watched at least 3 Gopro Cameras gently glide their way to the ocean floor with no way of recovering them.
3 - Is lunch provided? Ocean Quest will provide a snack, water, and a hot beverage for your trip.
4 - Is tipping the skipper/guides appropriate? Although it is not necessary to tip the crew, we are confident that you will be so thrilled with their efforts that you will want to! The crew works hard to ensure your adventure is safe, ecologically responsible, and fun. They really appreciate any show of gratitude.
